We’re Looking For A: Manager, Visual Design, Pet, who will be responsible for leading the entire design lifecycle for one or more of our brands. This includes conducting research, creating moodboards and concepts, developing logos and packaging, and designing basic e-commerce websites. You will collaborate closely with our Art Director, Brand Managers, and Digital Marketing Specialists to ensure that your designs align with our brand strategy and marketing goals. In addition to being the Senior Lead Visual Designer, you will serve as the day-to-day leader for a team of in-house Visual Designers by providing mentorship, facilitating growth, and ensuring creative excellence across all deliverables. You will be responsible for managing team priorities, setting clear expectations, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. Your work will contribute significantly to our brand's visual identity and overall success, while also playing a key role in developing the designers behind the work.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work closely with Brand Manager and Marketing Specialists, Project Managers, Media Buyers, and Developers on brand identity and online customer experience touchpoints.
  • Collaborate on the brand life cycle through design research, moodboards, identity, packaging, print, and web.
  • Be the design expert on the overall competitive landscape for a brand and lead the development and improvement of the brand to maintain our brand’s leadership position.
  • Maintain a consistent brand look and feel for web, banner ads, print, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with the Photographer on directing photo shoots and social media content creation for various social media platforms.
  • Work efficiently with vendors on the development of needed materials and ensure correct mechanical file setup and delivery of projects.
  • Design, maintain quality, and consistency of all printed assets, including packaging labels, unit cartons, promotional inserts, and in-store signage.
  • Able to collaborate with UX designers to create visually stunning responsive websites for various screens.
  • Collaborate with various departments on ensuring content is in line with the brand identity.
  • Present design concepts and moodboards to the Associate Art Director and key stakeholders
  • Guide a team of visual brand designers and provide creative and constructive design feedback
  • Collaborate with Design teams to improve processes, innovate on designs, and elevate our brands
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and project oversight for your design team, helping prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, design reviews, and performance feedback to support team development
  • Work closely with the Associate Art Director on hiring, onboarding, and coaching team members
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture that supports creativity and accountability

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • 5-7+ years of experience designing brands for Print, Web, and Social Media.
  • Strong conceptual skills, high-level sense of design, layout, and typography, a broad thinker who can offer a variety of design solutions.
  • Experience presenting concepts to the Art Director, Key Stakeholders, and Design Team
  • Experience designing high-fidelity graphic assets in Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Ability to design brand style guidelines creatively while upholding brand identity.
  • Print projects included but are not limited to packaging, print collateral, and in-store signage
  • Must have a clear understanding and knowledge of color profiles and how to set up color profiles for digital vs. print.
  • Ability to provide detailed print-ready files to the printer and web-ready files to developers.
  • General grasp of web design fundamentals, accessibility issues, processes, and production techniques.
  • Deep, extensive knowledge of graphic design, styles, and layout techniques.
