The company’s cutting-edge products are used in laboratories and pharma companies worldwide. 3Brain is headquartered in Switzerland nearby Zurich, has a Data Science and Discovery Unit in Genova, Italy, and an operational unit in the US.</p> <h2 id="tasks">Tasks</h2> <p>3Brain is looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Italian office to help scale our mechanical production capabilities and bridge the gap between design and manufacturing. As a key contributor, you will play a central role in shaping the realization of cutting-edge devices used in scientific and laboratory contexts, complex systems that seamlessly integrate mechanical components, thermal management, fluidics, and sophisticated electronics. Main responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain detailed CAD models and technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.</li> <li>Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality, and timely delivery of mechanical parts.</li> <li>Support final assembly, test, repair and maintenance processes.</li> <li>Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product robustness, ease of assembly, and cost-efficiency.</li> <li>Monitor and analyze production performance indicators related to mechanical components and assembly.</li> <li>Maintain and calibrate tools and fixtures used in final assembly.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the design and assembly lifecycle.</li> <li>Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues during assembly, test and repair.</li> <li>Contribute to root cause analysis and develop new testing or validation procedures.</li> <li>Provide data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and escalate issues when necessary.</li> </ul> <h2 id="requirements">Requirements</h2> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) with experience generating detailed drawings and documentation for production.</li> <li>Solid understanding of industrialization and manufacturing techniques, including injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and 3D printing.</li> <li>Experience working with external suppliers and managing outsourced manufacturing, quality reviews and DFM discussions.</li> <li>Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, testing, repair and production support.</li> <li>Familiarity with root cause analysis, failure investigation, and corrective/preventive action processes.</li> <li>Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma certification is a plus).</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal relationship, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and written/verbal communication skills in English.</li> <li>Applicant must have an EU residence permit.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of PCB assembly processes and electronic component integration.</li> <li>Familiarity with signal processing concepts and their mechanical implications (e.g., shielding, thermal dissipation).</li> <li>Experience with automation processes (e.g., pick-and-place, robotic assembly, or test automation).</li> <li>Ability to collaborate with electronics and firmware teams to ensure mechanical-electronic integration.</li> </ul> <h2 id="benefits">Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>A dynamic and stimulating work environment driven by a desire to build transformational technologies to help others.</li> <li>A young, fast-growing company with plenty of opportunities for personal growth and development.</li> <li>Working place: <strong>Genova, Italy</strong>.
