Master Swim Team Coach (Part-Time)

Do you have great swimming skills and technique with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills? Do you have experience coaching a swim team or teaching swimming skills? If so, Greendale Family Branch YMCA is looking for you to join our amazing Aquatics Department!

We are currently seeking a Master Swim Team Coach who is enthusiastic about teaching and coaching others! The Master Swim Team Coach is responsible for managing the team's competitive program, planning and scheduling practices, developing and planning a training program, and communicating with the team and their parents/guardians. Typical hours vary – weekdays, daytime, evenings, and weekends, with a preference for daytime and evening weekday availability.

Job Duties: 

• Serve as the Master's Swim Coach for the Greendale YMCA staff and community. 
• Develop the team's training schedule and group policies
• Recruits novice swimmers and maintaining swimmer retention 
• Write, execute and coach both land & water workouts
• Ensure the highest standards for aquatic safety, including Department of Public Health
• standards, are constantly maintained.
• Follow all YMCA policy & procedures
• Represent & promote the YMCA in the community 

Requirements: 

• At least 2 years of experience in successfully coaching swimmers with a wide range of athletic abilities
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches
• Experience in organizing, developing and managing a competitive swim team program including planning and supervising swim meets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills & interpersonal skills 
• Must possess and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
• Able to walk & stand for long periods of time of the pool deck
• Lifeguard certification preferred 

Schedule: Proposed practice hours would be 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays, Fridays from 7:45 pm - 8:45 pm (first 45 minutes on dry land) and potential open availability on weekends for Swim Meets that typically last most of the day

Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: $20.00 an hour
