IMMUNIZATION OUTREACH PROGRAM

This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

 

This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment.  OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

DESCRIPTION

This position will provide advanced, comprehensive public health nursing services and immunization in the Community Health Outreach Department utilizing the public health nursing process, the incumbent will be required to independently conduct, coordinate, and monitor for quality control and assurance. Position reports directly to the Operations & Management Consultant II. Independently assess vaccine schedule and administers age-appropriate vaccines in clinics and outreach events.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • Knowledge of nursing principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of Immunization practices and administration of vaccines to children and adult.
  • Skilled in phlebotomy.
  • Skilled in assisting clinician with medical procedures.
  • Skilled in preparing exam rooms for medical procedures.
  • Skill in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in providing nursing care.
  • Skill in computer use.
  • Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to administer injectable medications.
  • Ability to work with patients.
  • Ability to interpret and follow medical instructions.
  • Ability to observe patients' symptoms and reactions to treatment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

This occupation requires licensure as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27.
