1st Shift Rendering Maintenance Lead

Principal Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance activities for rendering operations ensuring equipment is properly serviced, repaired, and operating efficiently. Leads maintenance technicians, assigns tasks, and supports troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Help improve equipment reliability, safe operations and continuous production flow.

Job Duties: 

• Ensure safety procedures are followed, including proper lockout/tagout.
• Train maintenance technicians on proper maintenance methods and safe work practices
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and lead emergency repairs
• Monitor equipment condition and report needed repairs or replacements to supervisor or manager
• Assign asks and guide maintenance mechanics during daily operations
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on rendering equipment (cookers, presses, pumps, conveyors, etc)
• Oversee and installs replacement motors, pumps, drives, belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves on process equipment and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs.
• Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and breakdowns due to mechanical wear.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment.
• Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Leads equipment installations, parts replacements, equipment troubleshooting, etc.
• Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork
• Understands and follows the company GMPs policy.
• Understands and follows the company safety rules.
• May be required to work long hours and weekends as needed.
• May assume other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
• 2+ years in a rendering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently on 3rd shift.
• Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly reach with hands and arms to perform tasks.
• Comfortable working at heights and Climbing ladders.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
