Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Global Trade Senior Classifier. We’re looking for an experienced professional, like you, to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this role you will support U.S. Regime Export and Import classifications to the Business Units of Heritages UTAS and Rockwell Collins organization. You will be direct support to Global Technical Solutions (GTS), reporting to the GTS Global Trade Lead, and keeping up to date on changes to Trade Regulations that impact such classifications. 

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Perform U.S. Regime Jurisdiction/Classification and Harmonized Tariff Classification across GTS supported business units.
  • Engage on classification verifications, reclassifications, and transactional testing.
  • Support monthly internal transactional testing for US regime xClass functional areas of participant business units.
  • Train, develop, and mentor new and/or lower classifiers within GTS.
  • Conduct JC/HS Training and Development of GTS SME’s.
  • Provide targeted classification related flow down for classifiers across GTS.
  • Support turnback activity reporting, analysis and process improvement.
  • Participate in internal customer meetings to flow down classification efforts progress, status, and/or GTS tactical support information.
  • Assist GTS Lead and GTS Team on projects, strategic activities, training, and other related activities.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR - 22 CFR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR - 15 CFR).
  • Experience with SAP, SharePoint, Excel, Quantum, EASE, Access, Web based tools, etc.
