Job Description

The U.S. healthcare system is complex. For AbbVie to lead the industry in this environment, it is vital that our US Market Access (USMAx) Pipeline Team thoroughly comprehend the current and future state of the evolving U.S. healthcare space and market access channels. 

The Director II, USMAx Pipeline will lead the Immunology team responsible for U.S. market access strategy development for early pipeline priority assets and support key access assumptions for business development opportunities. The Director II USMAx Pipeline will be responsible and accountable to ensure the needs and requirements of U.S. payers are embedded into early asset development in order to position AbbVie assets for future success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the complex US Health system as well as US private and public payer segments and confidently bring the voice of U.S. payers and key external stakeholders to our early drug development process. The candidate has an enterprise mindset and can think strategically and critically on ways to support future pipeline success. They build strong and trusting relationships with senior level internal partners for cross functional influence. They can fully and properly represent US Market Access in pipeline governance and business development discussions. The Director II will align with cross-functional colleagues in Pipeline Commercialization Strategy (PCS) and Commercial Leadership to determine USMAx project and deliverable prioritization for the assigned AbbVie portfolio.
