Global Sourcing and Procurement:The Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) organization is accountable for driving and delivering Procurement value to support stakeholders’ and organizational strategic objectives. The GSP function delivers value to BioMarin by leading transformation change and implementing industry leading category strategies that directly support the corporate strategy. The GSP organization leverages market intelligence, subject matter expertise and business insights in the procurement of good and services and management of BioMarin’s growing third party spend of $1B+. Through collaboration with our external suppliers and internal business partners, GSP helps bring innovative new medicines to patients. The Worldwide Research & Development Sourcing Leader will be part of the GSP Leadership Team and reports to the Vice President of Global Sourcing and Procurement. The Worldwide Research & Development Sourcing Leader will lead a team of experienced procurement colleagues who are focused on establishing and executing category strategies in support of the BioMarin and support the management of $250M+ annual spend. The primary customer group is the Worldwide Research & Development organization which Translates Genetic Discoveries into Transformative Medicines. Role Scope: This leader must implement industry leading procurement practices, develop deep and wide relationships with stakeholders, drive innovation and continuous improvement in the ways of working. Provide mentoring and management to ensure colleague engagement and professional development. The role is responsible for leading a group of procurement professionals in supporting BioMarin, the Worldwide Research & Development Organization across the full value chain of Early Research and Development, Preclinical and Clinical Activities, Laboratory Support, including but not limited to the following:

Clinical Trial Services/ Clinical Research organizations
Research Services
Speciality & Central Laboratory Services
Laboratory Equipment, Supplies and services
Laboratory support services
Clinical testing
Functional Services Providers
Drug Safety Monitoring
Regulatory Services
Patient Outcomes

This role will collaborate closely with category leaders from across the Global Sourcing & Procurement organization to ensure that all of Worldwide Research and Development, as well as laboratories in the Technical Operations Organization are fully supported and optimized. Strategy & Leadership
