Job Summary
This is a full-time, academic, faculty term appointment in the Allied Health Department. The Instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned.

The instructor is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned.
The program director must:
- Be responsible for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, faculty mentoring, directing other program faculty/staff, and general effectiveness of the program
- Provide evidence that they participate in the budget preparation process
- Engage in continuing professional development every 3 years
- Be responsible for submitting required documents/documentation to maintain program accreditation, provides the program feedback on accreditation changes and makes recommendations for meeting required changes in timely manner
- Have regular and consistent contact with students, faculty, and program personnel.
At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.
Job Duties
- Prepares and delivers lectures.
- Coordinating clinical activities.
- Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, assignments, tests, and papers; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
- Maintains office hours for students seeking advice on class work, assignments, papers, and others.
- Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Maintains current license/certification in profession.
- Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
- Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.
- Advises and counsels students in academic and career fields.
- Review and update curriculum, assessments, student learning outcomes, and program learning outcomes on a regular basis as per accreditation standards.
- May perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head/Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree required (BSRT preferred).
- Progress towards a Master’s degree with completion in accordance with JRCERT accreditation requirement deadlines.
- Two (2) years experience as an instructor preferred.
- Has an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification in Radiologic Technology.
