Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Emergency Medicine at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Full-Time/Day Shift

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Emergency Medicine provides care to adult and pediatric patients in our emergency department. Our state-of-the-art ED has 81 beds and handles over 90,000 visits annually, making it the busiest ED in the Portland metro area. The emergency medicine clinical pharmacy specialist works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care, including responding to medical emergencies. They serve as a clinical leader on our team of emergency medicine clinical pharmacists. They develop initiatives to improve medication management in the ED. They are preceptors for pharmacy residents and student pharmacists. Our clinical pharmacy specialists work 10-hour shifts (weekdays and every third weekend).

Required Qualifications: 

  • PharmD - Pharmacy or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy    
  • Oregon Pharmacist License upon hire
  • 2 years - PGY2 residency training - or -  PGY1 residency training and 2 years of experience within relevant practice setting - or - a minimum of 4 years of experience in specialty practice setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BPS Board Certified Pharmacist within 2 years of hire

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
