About the role

We are seeking an experienced full-stack engineer to join us in our mission to build best in class incident analysis tools for OCI. You will be responsible for definition and development of cutting-edge technologies that will enable OCI to scale analysis of incidents, operationalize findings, and measurably validate improvements in incident response and system availability KPIs

Responsibilities  

As a member of the Change Engineering team, you will take an active role in designing and developing scalable solutions that focus on identifying and quantifying change, making them safer for OCI. You will provide leadership and expertise in the development of new services, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology, as well as mentoring engineers.  

Lead development initiatives enabling the transition from an ITIL change model to a DevOps operating model.  

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and tools, ensuring they align with OCI’s cloud strategy, compliance requirements, and advanced change management principles.  

Utilize your deep expertise in software development to design and implement algorithms, data models, and automated workflows for safe and efficient change processes.  

Work in tandem with stakeholders to define and implement policies that align with industry best practices and compliance standards, contributing to a proactive approach to change compliance.  

Implement closed-loop mechanisms to continuously improve operational hygiene, leveraging your software development skills to enhance change management workflows.  

Conduct comprehensive analysis of Oracle Cloud deployments, identifying and addressing operational risks through software-driven approaches.  

Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating innovative software solutions into the development process to strengthen risk reduction strategies.  

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.  

5+ years of development experience  

Proficient in programming languages such as Java and TypeScript with a focus on building robust and scalable full-stack solutions.  

Proven experience as a senior-level software developer, with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset for addressing operational challenges   

Expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system development, with a deep understanding of distributed systems.  

Experience with the latest CI/CD tools/best practices like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, etc.  

Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding and mentoring a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
