This role sits within the Data Platform Team that is the business owner of the AmexGBT big data environment and is the source for several reporting tools that service our business partners globally.  At AmexGBT, we view data and business intelligence as an essential part of any travel management program. The ability to consolidate and enrich large data sets from multiple sources, from so many geographies, into one data platform is vital to our company’s success.  The Business System Analyst will play an active part in both defining and delivering future data, analytics and insights needs in support of customer initiatives and will have the opportunity to support the advancement of AmexGBT’s data. The position requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a passion to improve how our products and technical capabilities are perceived by customers/prospects and the industry.

We are looking for a strong candidate who will play a fundamental role in the support of data sources and outputs within the AmexGBT big data environment, and support of critical enterprise projects and initiatives. The Business Analyst will also need an overall understanding of general business processes and commercial perspectives and have a passion for supporting big data capabilities that will be used to create new BI predictive analytics and visualization capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support end to end Data Platform initiatives from business engagement to technology deployment.
• Translate customer and business value statements into technical specifications and capabilities.
• Coordinate between GBT business stakeholders and technology partners to understand complex business needs, data requirements and then translate requirements into effective data content usable in reporting, visualization and actionable insights.
• Manage information gathering efforts with initial source of record partners.
• Interact with technology partners and business stakeholders and users through concise and accurate communications.
• Test and validate processes to ensure successful completion and support the creation of valid test scenarios.
• Develop and execute robust end-to-end user acceptance test plans.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years experience with data capabilities / business intelligence / management information.
• MUST have strong and seasoned experience with SQL.
• 3+ years experience in the travel industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with design and development of data warehouse/data mart schemas and ETL processes will be a plus.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Aptitude to solve complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and influence across a fast-paced and dynamic environment to achieve results, often progressing multiple competing priorities.
• Highly organized with ability to keep projects moving forward and run from start to finish.
• Must be results driven, taking the lead with little supervision as well as working closely with fellow team members in a small team.
• Ability to work against tight deadlines with colleagues across the world.
• MUST be ready to work during overlap hours with global teams.

Location

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
