Summary:
The purpose of this position is to carry out duties in accordance with overseeing and coordinating the department’s daily productivity and production by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (80%):
- Make equipment rounds of all presses at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Support maintenance on preventive maintenance and downtime events as needed.
- Support Extrusion presses as needed in the event a Team Leader is absent.
- Individually manages 3 Team Leads per shift in the department: Press 1, Press 2 and Press 3.
- Coordinates daily production requirements via dispatch schedule and coordinates the sequencing of materials through the process to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Ensures work area and all shift employees follow safety regulations to include but not limited PPE, confined space, spill control, lockout tagout, 5S and general working conditions.
- Conduct monthly safety topic meetings with employee(s).
- Reviews and recommends to manager any measures to improve the department and areas to include but not limited to production methods, equipment, quality, safety, service and overall performance of the department.
- Supports the training for all shift Extrusion employees.
- Complete at time card approvals and Skyline workflows for shift employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Coaching/counseling employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Makes hiring decisions for shift.
Education/Experience:
- Required - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Preferred at least an Associates or Technical degree in a business or related field.
- Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience with a manufacturing or warehousing environment; preferred at least 3 years within an Extrusion Environment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs: Gmail, Word, Power Point, Excel
