Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Water Systems General Supervisor at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday.

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to Manager, Tailings and Water Systems, the Water Systems General Supervisor is accountable for leadership of the Water Systems Operations teams. This leadership ensures the teams have safe and productive supervision, as well as effective systems, methods, and scheduling to meet water management targets and quality standards, resulting in safe, effective operation of the water systems at Copper Mountain Mine (CMM).

 

Responsibilities 

• Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with mining regulations and the Mine site safety (lock out and tag out, isolation), quality, and environmental standards and procedures,
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with tailings management facilities’ Operation, Maintenance, Surveillance (OMS) manual and all related water systems OMS manual,
• Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to deliver safe, reliable production,
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) and actively participate in Health & Safety initiatives,
• Monitor staff scheduling to ensure shift staffing requirements are met,
• Conduct workplace, TMF and water systems inspections on a regular basis,
• Identify, investigate, develop mitigation options, and document potential water management / water systems as well as health, safety, and environmental concerns,
• Develop and implement methods to meet water transfer / water management activities, work schedules and coordinates work activities with other departments,
