GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Director of Center Operations is responsible for implementation of high-quality programs for Head Start and Early Head Start while ensuring full compliance with State and Federal regulations and adherence to the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer and sustain the Head Start & Early Head Start grants through compliance of State and Federal regulations and adherence to the Head Start Performance Standards.
- Provide supervision, leadership and support to the Regional Director of Center Operations, CCP Operations & Monitoring Specialist and Center Operations Coordinator.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor the Head Start budget in coordination with the Vice President of HS/EHS, striving to find efficiencies and room for revenue growth on a regular basis.
- In close collaboration with the VP of HS/EHS, AVP of Education, Head Start Directors and Head Start Management team, establish performance goals and participate in effective and efficient program planning and implementation that ensure the delivery of high-quality programs for children and families and further the ECS vision and mission.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of HS/EHS, HS Directors, and AVP Early Childhood Education on the Head Start / Early Head Start program operations systems, including the Policies and Procedures, Self-Assessment, Program Information Report and Improvement Plan, T&TA Plan, Long and Short-Term Goals, and Action Plans.
- Assist in creating HS/EHS Grant Applications and Program Budgets and provide information as needed for the Community Assessment and Self-Assessment.
- Assist in preparing and submitting accurate and timely reports required by funding sources to Policy Council and any other required parties.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Vice President of HS/EHS and Chief Operating Officer informed of all-important issues.
- Take an active role in representing ECS throughout the community and cultivating key relationships.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
- This position reports to the Vice President of HS/EHS – Head Start Director
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Baccalaureate degree and experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Head Start experience, or the ability to quickly understand the Head Start philosophy and model, is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team within the organization and build positive rapport with key community groups and constituents.
- Demonstrated experience in a change management environment requiring leadership in defining process and establishing relationships, both internal and external.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, operations, and evaluation, and the use of management information systems.
- Creative problem-solver with the ability to use data and sound judgm
