Schedule: 40 hours weekly. Position does require evenings, weekend, and holiday hours.

The Senior Admissions Counselor plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, compassionate, and efficient admissions experience for individuals seeking services. This role blends leadership and hands-on coordination—supporting daily admissions operations, guiding team members, and helping remove barriers so individuals can access the right level of care. In the absence of Admissions leadership, you’ll step in to help keep workflows moving and decisions on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily admissions operations, including call management, scheduling assessments, and coordinating referrals 
•  Serve as a resource and leader for Admissions team members, providing guidance, training, and support 
•  Collaborate with providers and internal teams to facilitate timely, appropriate admissions decisions 
•  Ensure accurate collection and entry of demographic, insurance, and intake information 
•  Assist in resolving barriers to admission, including insurance, logistics, and communication challenges 
•  Coordinate transportation and transitions of care to support seamless access to services 
•  Monitor bed availability, reporting, and documentation accuracy to meet regulatory standards 
•  Promote a professional, compassionate, and efficient experience for individuals and families 
•  Provide coverage support and help maintain workflow continuity during high-volume periods 
•  Respond appropriately to emergent situations using trained intervention techniques

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• High School/GED required
 • Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred

QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience in mental health required if Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is not obtained
 • Ability to deal with people in an empathetic and concerned manner preferred
