We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Data Intelligence Specialist - Data Engineer to join the team!

The Business Data Intelligence Specialist - Data Engineer will:

• Design, develop, operate, and maintains software and data service platforms for streamlining, automating, reporting, analyzing, and visualizing JSC technology lifecycle processes; including: the solicitation, management, tracking, infusion, reporting of center technology
• Evaluate current technology and business processes and advise the leadership team on process improvements and information technology utilization
• Interface and integrate with existing NASA teams and software/APIs responsible for tracking technology including STMD STARPORT, TECHPORT and AppDat
• Ensure all new software remains in compliance with laws, regulations, NASA policies, standards, and technical procedures
• Provide team training on new systems and tools as needed
• The individual will need the technical skills to navigate various industry standard data systems; and the problem-solving skills to design innovative methods of connecting data systems where obvious keys/connections are absent
• Perform other duties as required

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area or experience in the field.
• Experience in programing and scripting languages such as: Python, JavaScript, Go, or equivalents 
• Experience managing common database platforms: MySQL, Postgres, etc. 
• Experience in process improvement with measurable results 
• Background in data mining, modeling, analysis, cleaning, data error correction, and visualization 
• Familiarity with tools currently used by the Business Development and Technology Integration Office such as WordPress, SharePoint, Power BI, Svelte, HTML <
