Your Role as Nursing Manager of Case Management

As the Nursing Manager of Case Management , you’ll ensure exceptional patient-centered care by overseeing all aspects of hospital-based case management. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of 22 RNs and a Social Work Team Leader, fostering professional growth and competency.
  • Ensure staff effectively use tools like InterQual to progress patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate timely and appropriate patient management.
  • Monitor and audit case management interactions, documentation, and assessments to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Lead clinical performance improvement initiatives and promote optimal resource utilization.
  • Assume responsibility for department operations, scheduling, staffing, and education in the absence of the Director.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and subject-matter expert for the case management team.

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience: 3+ years of clinical nursing case management experience in an acute care setting (8+ years preferred for top-tier candidates).
  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Certifications: Current RN license in Texas; Case Management certification and InterQual/IQCI certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion: A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and optimizing resource utilization.
