The TIB Maintenance Compliance Manager will coordinate and interface with applicable equipment leasing and finance companies that lease trucks to Copart vendors within the Truck in a Box (“TIB”) program, regarding ongoing maintenance of the leased trucks to promote and ensure contractual compliance . The TIB Program is an opportunity for existing business owners and aspiring start-ups to source and lease a tow truck through an established third-party leasing network and obtain towing opportunities to Copart facilities. The TIB Maintenance Compliance Manager is responsible for tracking maintenance schedules for each leased truck by interacting with third-party leasing and finance companies to ensure such companies are following up with the TIB business owners to ensure they are performing contractual and regulatorily required routine maintenance and repairs on leased trucks , managing expectations, and enforcing contractual obligations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop and implement a third-party leasing and finance company reporting maintenance program for all leased vehicles in the TIB Program
- Track and log maintenance reports to confirm timely inspections, services, and repairs are being completed
- Track compliance, generate reports, and identify trends and risks
- Verify and update third-party leasing and finance company program include “state of the art” preventive maintenance schedules and compliance benchmarks for all leased trucks
- Assist third-party leasing and finance company in sourcing low-cost high-quality options for tires, parts, equipment, and fuel to potentially help TIB business owners
- Educate TIB business owners regarding best practices, DOT compliance, safety inspections, and insurance requirements
- Monitor and analyze maintenance performance, downtime, and costs to recommend improvements to third-party leasing and finance companies.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on maintenance best practices to third-party leasing and finance companies.
- Coordinate support for emergency repairs to leased trucks during Copart Catastrophe Response events
- Help streamline internal processes for validation of maintenance compliance tracking and reporting
- From time to time, assist other departments with operational tasks to support overall company needs
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance management, compliance oversight, or heavy-duty vehicle programs
- Hands-on knowledge of tow trucks, trailers, hydraulics, and related equipment
- Strong understanding of DOT, insurance, and towing industry compliance standards
- Ability to design and manage reporting systems and enforce compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, charts, reporting tools) and other reporting software
- Experience with vendor negotiation for parts, tires, fuel, and repair services
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills (maintenance logs, compliance reports, risk tracking)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Must be a self-starter, highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, hands-on, and a quick learner
- 3 – 5 plus years or equivalent experience in transportation logistics preferred
- Education: HS degree, college, or more preferred
- Proficient in MS Office Suite preferred
