Base Pay Range: $54,989 - $75,610

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will assist in many different processes within the Accounting & Finance department, both within the month-end closing cycle and regular daily and monthly processes.  This position reports to the Assistant Controller.       

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working individually and collaboratively, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable (assisting existing staff):
    • Apply cash collections through cash, check, ACH, wire, and credit card to customer accounts.
    • Work with customers to ensure timely collection of receipts, placing accounts on shipment hold as necessary.
    • Regularly evaluate, calculate, and update customer credit limits.
    • Serve as daily contributor in all facets of the receivables process and act as a full-service independent backup in all facets of Accounts Receivable in the absence of primary staff.
  • Treasury
    • Reconcile bank accounts of varying complexity.
  • Month-end closing duties:
    • Handle bookkeeping duties for certain foreign offices that do not have dedicated foreign staff.
    • Complete analysis and adjusting entries for certain accruals.
    • Support month-end consolidation and close to ensure accuracy and timeliness, including GL tie-outs, account reconciliations, etc.
    • Manage the preparation and distribution of financial reports to key stakeholders.
  • Complete monthly sales tax returns for states that Banner does business in.
  • Support Chart of Accounts and Cost Center structure updates throughout the year.
  • Other daily and monthly regular processes as assigned.
  • Opportunities for future development and growth through cross-training and rotation with the AP-focused Staff Accountant role to build a well-rounded financial skill set.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 4 year program in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong working knowledge in other Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, etc).
  • Oracle or similar ERP experience.
  • Previous Accounting or Finance experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
