This position supports the legal work of the Order Entry Section in the PUC's Secretary's Bureau, by preparing, reviewing, and organizing important case documents. The role involves careful review, communication, and coordination to keep case information accurate and up-to-date. As a Legal Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Document Review: Examine orders, letters, and decisions to determine the correct action needed
- Quality Checking: Ensure documents are complete, accurate, and properly formatted before processing
- Case File Updates: Retrieve and update case files to maintain current and reliable information
- Communication Support: Speak with staff, attorneys, utilities, and consumers to share information as needed
- Workflow Coordination: Manage tasks in a timely manner to help meet statutory service requirements
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
- To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements:
- Within a reasonable travel distance of headquarters; and
- Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
