Required Qualification: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD, MD, or foreign equivalent Doctoral Degree in Pharmacology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related biomedical discipline. Demonstrated expertise in rodent models of kidney or related organ injury. Strong background in transcription factor biology and gene regulation, and experience in transcriptomic and/or metabolomic data generation or analysis. 10 or more years of research experience in cardiorenal research, 7 years of that 10 years must be full time research experience in kidney biology. Candidates should also have a proven record of peer reviewed publications and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative research efforts. Currently holds unrestricted employment authorization for the U.S.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience with animal models of acute kidney injury.
Experience with transcription factor biology.
Familiarity with transcriptomics or metabolomics.
Experience mentoring trainees or managing projects.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Research Scientist to join our laboratory studying molecular mechanisms and therapeutic targets in acute kidney injury. The successful candidate will have expertise in animal models of kidney injury and strong experience in transcription factor biology and multi-omics approaches including transcriptomics and metabolomics, and will contribute to experimental design, execution, data analysis, and collaborative translational research efforts aimed at understanding and mitigating kidney injury.
Specific Duties:
Coordinate activities interrelated with research project
Exercise the broadest discretion in planning and executing a major research activity or program
Plan and carry out complex and unique research approach and demonstrated stature in the field of study or disciplinary specialty.
Collaborate with professional associates, members of scientific community, both nationally and internationally
Other duties as assigned.
