About the role

At Amazon, we are excited to offer graduate students the opportunity to launch into big careers with limitless possibilities. We know searching for an internship or a full-time role is as much about finding a company where you can picture yourself being successful as it is about finding the right role.

Amazon’s Corporate Business Development (Corp BD) team works across all of Amazon’s businesses and leads our most complex and high-impact opportunities. The Corp BD team is trustworthy, adaptable, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making and on getting things done.

As a Corp BD intern, your work involves regular interaction with leaders across Amazon and the opportunity to influence highly strategic initiatives throughout the company in order to bring value through strategic partnerships. Our team’s work spans across the Amazon business units, with a focus toward initiatives that guide the next phase of growth, including digital media, advertising, ecommerce, payments, cloud computing and mobile technologies. Your contributions help to manage relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are unconventional in nature, need a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications to multiple Amazon business units. With this focus, work is common with major technology companies, such as Facebook and Google, as well as with high-growth start-ups to identify new partnership opportunities. Internal partnerships with management teams are critical to understanding relative advantages or risks, if/when major features are in existing roadmaps, and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption.

An Amazon MBA summer internship is 11-12 weeks long, consisting of a strategic project that is data intensive, analytical, centered on a real business issue, and representative of the full-time role. The Corp BD intern will have ownership of a high-profile project, where they will partner with key business groups and clients. By participating in the internship, you will have opportunities to analyze unique business ideas, make data driven decisions and provide input to drive meaningful change. Each intern will have exposure to upper level management (including Vice Presidents and Directors) and the opportunity to apply general business and financial analysis skills to support successful execution of corporate strategies. This opportunity is Seattle-based.
