Video and Multimedia Producer

Reporting to the OSU Foundation’s Senior Creative Director, the Video and Multimedia Producer is responsible for managing the OSU Foundation’s video and multimedia efforts and leading the organization’s strategy for digital storytelling. The Producer creates short-form social media content, longer-form narrative videos, motion graphics, and other multimedia to support the Foundation’s fundraising and engagement goals.
The Video and Multimedia Producer determines audience-specific goals; defines key messages; leads storyboarding, production design, scripting, and other pre-planning; then films content and leads post-production for a variety of digital projects – ranging from platform-native short-form content for social media to video tributes for awards events. The Producer also purchases and maintains the department’s video and multimedia equipment.
Key Partners
Sr. Director, Communications Strategy: The Video and Multimedia Producer consults with the Sr. Director of Communications Strategy on story selection, scripting, tone, and messaging strategy, advancing the communications objectives of the organization.
Digital Marketing Specialists: The Video and Multimedia Producer works closely with the Foundation's Digital Marketing Specialists to develop and deliver video content for the organization's social media channels, coordinating on content calendars, platform-specific formats, and social strategy to maximize reach and engagement.
Director, Events, and Sr. Director, Stewardship: The Video and Multimedia Producer works with the Events Director and Sr. Director of Stewardship to create compelling multimedia that advances the strategic objectives of our events and engages our audiences in a meaningful way.
Oregon State University Videographers: The Video and Multimedia Producer maintains a collaborative working relationship with colleagues in University Relations and Marketing, in the colleges, and at OSU-Cascades.
Additional key internal Foundation partners include the Sr. Director of Annual Giving, the Director of Marketing for Alumni Engagement, and the other members of the Marketing and Communications team.
Major Duties
Creative Leadership, Strategic Direction, Planning, and Analysis (40%)
Working with the Senior Creative Director and Senior Director of Communications Strategy, assist in determining strategy and messaging for all multimedia projects.
Provide thought leadership and push the organization toward the forefront of digital engagement strategies and video production techniques.
Develop and execute a social media video strategy, including short-form content (Reels, Shorts, clips) optimized for each platform.
Working with the Senior Creative Director, supervise outsourced multimedia work and serve as a liaison with University Relations and Marketing, other videographers, and other creative professionals.
Stay current in multimedia and video production technological advances, including the use of AI to streamline workflows.
Collaborate with the organization’s AI partners to create personalized video content at scale.
Production: creative execution, logistical oversight (60%)
Create compelling short-form and long-form videos that tell the stories of OSU students, faculty, and donors, with the goal of inspiring philanthropic support of the university within strategic areas and building engagement with the university.
Scout filming locations, conduct research and pre-interviews, manage video and audio equipment, arrange travel logistics, conduct interviews, capture b-roll, and execute post-production.
Produce platform-optimized short-form video content across the Foundation's social media channels, including formats such as Reels, Shorts, and social clips.
Working with the creative team, produce animated graphics and other digital storytelling tools that convey facts and numbers in powerful, energetic, and engaging ways.
Work professionally and courteously with OSU Foundation trustees and Oregon State University’s top donors – often independently – assuring that they have a great experience and feel cared for during pre-production, filming, and post-production.
Edit video footage into a compelling story, place b-roll, and create supporting animated graphics.
Maintain a system for organizing and storing archived video projects for the department.
Collect and store model releases for on-screen talent.
