About the job

 

The SAS Model Manager team is looking to hire a Software Developer.  SAS Model Manager provides a framework for managing the analytical lifecycle and enables organizations to rapidly and uneventfully deploy models into production with MLOps.  Our trustworthy AI capabilities empower customers to make comparisons and assess model fairness before going live with a new version.  We also enable our customers to monitor the performance of their models in production and retrain them when appropriate. 

 

As a Software Developer (Emerging Career), you will:

  • Work with top industry software developers in a highly collaborative environment and will interact with many different teams across different areas. 
  • Be responsible for designing and developing high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes, and actively involving other project stakeholders (e.g., managers, developers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards. 
  • Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert your team and manager of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.  
  • Be expected to ensure quality through functional, unit and performance testing; work closely with testing team members by providing thorough reviews of the test plan and communicate when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns, and/or bug fixes. 
  • Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers. 
  • In collaboration with technical writers, create the appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers. 
  • Embrace a culture of curiosity and collaboration; keeping an eye out for improvements and sharing ideas. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience 
  • Experience with Golang and Python
  • Understanding of modern software development tools, methodologies, and principles
  • Exposure to collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience using Git for source code management and code review

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing
  • Exposure to SQL and relational databases
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, or other Container Technologies
  • Exposure to Typescript
