Summer Intern

CentraCare seeks a Health and Wellness Intern to perform duties within Vitality Wellness within CentraCare – Long Prairie & Sauk Centre Rehabilitation Departments. This internship focuses on a healthcare leadership training for college students who are already enrolled in a Health Care leadership program. The priority will be to assist in coordination of programs and services to promote healthy lifestyles, enhance quality of life and support well-being through the Six Dimensions of Wellness; Physical, Occupational, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual and Social Well-Being. Intern will work with clients and assist with patients to provide comprehensive fitness assessments and health consultations, develop safe and effective individualized exercise programming, be an instructor for group exercise classes and provide high-level orientation of gym equipment to new members. This role will also assist in the creation and implementation of Vitality Wellness member engagement, contribute to innovative marketing ideas, develop health newsletter articles and assist with community outreach events and activities. 

Schedule & Pay:

• Temporary Summer position | 480 hours
• 3 months | 80 hours every two weeks
• Monday-Friday | 8:00am-4:30pm
• $16.40/hour

Qualifications:

• Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a Minnesota educational institution, or a resident of Minnesota enrolled in an out-of-state program.
• Post-secondary students must be enrolled in a two- or four-year health care degree program with the intention of completing the program.
