This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.We are looking for a seasoned and highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Launch Complex team. This role will support the development of launch infrastructure, integration, and recovery of launch vehicles, as well as infrastructure maintenance. As a member of the New Glenn Finance team, you will drive sophisticated analysis, process improvement, and reporting to contribute towards financial and programmatic decisions that directly impact the history of space exploration. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional financial acumen, strong leadership skills, and a passion for our mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced financial analysis and reporting to assist senior business managers and ensure projects are within budgets.
- Recommend and implement strategic operational improvement measures and identify key financial and non-financial risks, advising on mitigants for those risks.
- Create comprehensive content and present data to support program, financial, and operations reviews.
- Develop and maintain initial capital project EACs (Estimate at Completion) and provide quarterly updates to drive execution to plan.
- Drive the development of quarterly forecasts for labor and capital expenditures.
- Conduct in-depth data mining across complex data sets.
- Collaborate across finance teams for advanced reporting and analytics.
- Support internal initiatives for new products.
- Understand intricate business processes and their financial impact.
- Foster trust, maintain professional relationships, and promote a culture of inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or an analytical field.
- 8+ years of post-graduation financial analysis experience.
- Proven experience with data mining across sophisticated data sets.
- Experience with SQL.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency including complex functions and data modeling.
- Understanding of underlying business processes and the strategic impact of financial decisions.
- Position is based in Blue Origin’s FL Launch Complex offices.
Desired:
- Experience with Tableau and Deltek Costpoint.
- Experience working in a Research & Development or Manufacturing environment.
- MBA, CPA, or Master’s Degree in Finance.
