As a Security Associate within PNC’s Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.

The Global Security Fusion Center’s (GSFC) Data Analytics & Optimization team provides information-and data-related work products which support department leaders and executives in decision making to reduce risk and to improve the overall security posture of the organization. Information takes a number of forms including presentations, Tableau dashboards, analytical summaries, metric data, and data-backed insights which require interactions and coordination across many partner organizations across GSFC and the enterprise.

Information developed by the team inform leaders in making key decisions including, but not limited to, purchasing/renewing security tools, allocating full time employees (FTEs) across the team, understanding current staffing (gearing ratios), operational performance of teams, and changing/maintaining policy requirements.

The following are examples of activities that the team supports:
- Weekly Unknown Device Detection
- Monthly GSFC Metrics
- Monthly/Bi-Monthly Executive Committee & Board of Director Metrics
- Monthly Security Advisory Group (SAG)
- Monthly gearing ratios
- Daily FDO reporting & executive briefings
- Tableau Reports

The following skills are preferred:
- Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Queries and Database Access Controls, Data Visualization Tools, Analytical Thinking, Effective Communication, Accuracy and Attention to Detail

Candidates should be detail oriented, a problem solver, and be able to think critically.

Job Description

  • Participates in activities, processes, and utilizes tools needed to improve overall security posture of the organization.
  • Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Performs investigation and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Reviews and defines controls.
  • Advises on less complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators and network operations. Participates in enforcement of control security risks and threats.
  • Conducts security assessments and other information security routines consistently, with supervision.
