The Position
Maintenance Mechanic/WelderJob Summary
Primary Duties:
Perform all pre-shift and safety inspections of assigned equipment and complete daily inspection reports.
Obey all safety operating and work guidelines.
Operate equipment in a safe and timely manner.
Undertake repair work on all plant equipment as required
Undertake fabrication work as instructed to by site management
Carry out any maintenance work as instructed to by site management.
Support Production Department on plant improvements and modifications to maximize production efficiency
Equipment Involved:
Mobile welding truck and/or Maintenance Truck
Maintenance shop welding and general maintenance equipment - Grinders, drills, cutting equipment etc
All plant processing equipment
Maintenance tools powered and hand operated
Manlift and/or Scissor Lift
Working Conditions:
Indoors and Outdoors in various weather conditions
Qualifications:
Certification in welding and/or mechanical maintenance preferred
Education:
1. GED or High School Diploma is required
Experience:
Previous experience in mechanical maintenance and welding
Skills Requirements:
Demonstrated ability in performance of welding.
Demonstrated ability in fabrication work and ability to follow design drawings and instructions.
Demonstrated ability in the use of maintenance powered and hand tools.
Communications skills including verbal, non-verbal, listening, interpreting and understanding instructions.
Consulting effectively with coworkers concerning work and schedules.
Satisfactory Attendance & Performance Records.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Skills & Experience Preferred
Previous experience of minerals processing and manufacturing environment
Previous experience and training under MSHA
Mechanical Maintenance and/or Welding and Fabrication
