The Job in short
As a Senior Technical Writer at Backbase, you collaborate with development teams and Product Management to write documentation for projects that implement our software in the bank's software ecosystem. Your clearly written English documentation helps the readers to understand the product and find out how to configure and implement it.

Meet the job

You are the authority of a large part of the documentation. You work independently and advise Product Owners about the documentation for their products. You are part of a group of experienced Technical Writers that help and support each other in case anyone has questions or runs into issues. When you're making changes to the documentation, you work with Developers and Product Owners to review the accuracy of your work and with fellow Technical Writers to review the quality of the writing. This way of working ensures that everything we write is of the highest quality and accuracy and it allows you to coach other writers.

In order to really excel in this role, we believe you will need the following:

• An ability to think strategically about the architecture of the documentation in relation to the product portfolio. 
• A deep understanding of the audiences of your product area and how the products are used by different stakeholders.
• Excellent writing skills, with a keen interest in user feedback and ongoing quality improvement.
• An ability to use data and insights to make formal decisions about content and advocate for best content practices with stakeholders.
• Good time management and organization skills, with an ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Experience writing technical content in the context of a complex product suite, as well as documenting REST APIs, services, and code examples. You can quickly grasp technical concepts and ask the right questions.
• Experience working with markup languages such as Asciidoc and Markdown, using version control systems such as Git and GitHub, and following a Docs-as-Code approach.
