Sr. Accountant, Regional GL Accounting

<p><br/><b><span>Job Description:</span></b></p><p><span>Envista's Regional Accounting Group based in Prague is looking for an experienced General Ledger (</span><span>GL) Senior Accountant.<span>  </span>The Sr. GL Accountant will work within a team that is responsible for US GAAP accounting and reporting of specific assigned operating companies and/or legal entities.<span>  </span>In addition, the GL accounting team </span><span>will be responsible for regulatory financial reporting requirements, as well as compliance and implementation of internal control policies and procedures.</span><span><span>  </span>The position is based in Prague and reports to the Regional GL Accounting Lead.</span></p><p></p><p><b>Job Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Perform various activities within the Record-to-Report processes in line with US GAAP, corporate policies and in respect to local statutory requirements of the European countries assigned.</p></li><li><p>Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting and ensure all corporate deadlines are met.</p></li><li><p>Understand the balance sheet &amp; income statement impacts of every transaction to challenge or propose accounting adjustment entries, when relevant.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate all necessary supporting documentation for monthly accruals and prepayments.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate the preparation of Balance Sheet and coordinate the monthly review and analyses.</p></li><li><p>Ensure the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations are performed timely.</p></li><li><p>Ensure performance of internal controls, including SOX compliance.</p></li><li><p>Ensure all internal policies and procedures are consistently followed.</p></li><li><p>Review timely tax declarations and local tax filing requirements (VAT, Corporate Tax, etc.) in with local deadlines.</p></li><li><p>Prepare statutory accounts and tax returns as well as any other local government requirements.</p></li><li><p>Support audits (internal &amp; external) including coordination of client deliverables. </p></li><li><p>Key user for specific finance systems including maintenance of respective approval matrix, training and support of department users and documentation.</p></li><li><p>Ensure accounting documentation (Guidelines, Manuals) are complete and up-to-date.</p></li><li><p>Motivate, mentor, develop, and manage GL accounting team members.</p></li><li><p>Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the GL Accounting Team.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><br/><span>This Job is also suitable for persons with disabilities; attendance required – disabled-accessible building.</span></p><p></p><p><span>#LI-MK1</span></p><p></p><p></p><p><b><span>Job Requirements:</span></b></p><p><b><span>Experience:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>5 years experience, minimum 2 years in a multinational corporation or global accounting firm, Big 4 preferred.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of successful collaboration with team members and stakeholders.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Skills/Knowledge:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent technical financial skills. Ability to understand the balance sheet &amp; income statement impacts of every transaction and to challenge or propose material accounting judgment entries, when relevant.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processes.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Record to Report knowledge and experience.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to understand various local statutory requirements (German, Italian, French, etc.).</span></p></li><li><p><span>SAP R3, Oracle, HFM knowledge is a plus</span></p></li><li><p><span>US-GAAP and SOX experience</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Other Competencies:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Higher degree in business administration or equivalent finance specific degree, CPA/ACCA or equivalent</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required.
