Weekend Morning Anchor/Multimedia Journalist/Producer 

 

KVIA-TV is the dominant news station in the El Paso/Las Cruces market. We are seeking a dynamic anchor/multimedia journalist/producer. You will report three days a week, and anchor and produce “Good Morning El Paso Weekend” newscasts.

The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional with a strong on-air presence, exceptional storytelling abilities, and a keen understanding of multimedia journalism. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Anchor/Produce for Good Morning El Paso Weekend.
  • Report and provide dynamic live shots. 
  • Respond quickly to breaking news. 
  • Anchor news broadcast with professionalism, energy, and authority. 
  • Write and produce compelling newscasts.
  • Write, produce, shoot, edit and deliver compelling news stories for on-air and digital platforms. 
  • Conduct thorough research and interviews to gather accurate information for news reporting. 
  • Collaborate with the news team to develop innovative story ideas and coverage plans. 
  • Utilize social media platforms to engage with the audience and promote news content. 
  • Adhere to strict journalistic standards, ethics, and guidelines in all reporting endeavors. 
  • Stay updated on current events, trends, and developments to ensure comprehensive news coverage. 

  Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred. 
  • Strong on-air presence and excellent communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and multimedia production tools. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AP style, news writing principles, and storytelling techniques. 
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts and adapt to changing schedules. 
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR check, drug screening and possess a valid driver license.
