Job Description

The Roland Berger Advanced Technology Center supports automotive, industrial, and technology clients globally to master the challenges and opportunities that new technologies such as software, electronics, semiconductors, sensors, actuators, energy storage, and quantum computing bring to their businesses and markets. Together with our clients, we develop successful strategies globally. We rely on the combination of an excellent understanding of business and deep technological know-how. Thus, we are looking for candidates who can bridge the technology and business world.

Quantum technology has the potential to disrupt almost every industry in existence today. Not just quantum computers but also several different quantum systems are set to radically change the way companies operate and do business. In our projects we help our clients, from startups to large multinationals, to prepare for the quantum age and participate in the process. This includes readiness assessments in terms of software, hardware and cryptography just as well as large-scale strategy regarding quantum R&D and the corresponding supply chain.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who want to combine their knowledge and passion for quantum technology with a drive for business excellence.

Qualifications

  • University degree with excellent academic achievements in quantum-related studies, e.g., physics, mathematics, engineering, information technology, ideally in combination with an MBA or other economic studies
  • In-depth technical knowledge in at least one of the follow fields: quantum computing, quantum technology (e.g., quantum sensors, quantum communication, quantum algorithms), photonics, optics, semiconductors
  • Typically, 2-5 years of professional experience in technology driven companies – ideally in roles with exposure to inhouse strategy, business development or consulting
  • Alternatively, PhD in quantum related studies
  • The ability to "talk tech" while managing to integrate people from a non-technical background
  • Excellent sense for business trends and the ability to bridge technology and business
  • An excellent overview and interest related to latest technological developments
  • Strong leadership skills, especially in bringing people with different mindsets together
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and project management experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English, German is an advantage
