Director of Accounting

Purpose: 

The Director of Accounting is responsible for managing the accounting process internally, coordinating with parent company’s shared service center, approving all manual journal entry activity, reviewing all general ledger activity and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financials. This position also manages the annual audit and assists with budgeting and financial forecasting process.

 

Job Duties: 

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, revenue recognition, and general ledger
• Manage the close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end and quarter-end activities
• Lead and manage accounting team, providing coaching and career development opportunities
• Manage relationship with parent company shared service center
• Journal entry, invoice and account reconciliation review
• Review and variance analysis of monthly financial statements
• Coordinate partner agency transactions/balances
• Handle ad hoc reporting and accounting questions
• Manage SOX documentation and self testing
• Manage the annual audit and ensure all required documentation is provided
• Oversee working capital reporting

 

Qualifications: 

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of US GAAP
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Office
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication, organization, time management and prioritization skills
• Established history of presenting and communicating with all levels of client leadership
• Ability to foster creativity and leading edge thinking throughout engagements 
• Ability to create learning opportunities for all levels during engagements
• Ability to work with team members of all levels to achieve results and meet objectives

 

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 8+ years of related accounting experience
• 3+ years of management experience
• Professional services experience

 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Consistent use of hands and fingers to operate a mouse and keyboard
• Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop and kneel
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Hybrid Work Model:

Our employees have the flexibility to work remotely two days per week. We expect our team members to spend 3 days per week in person with the flexibility to choose the days and times that work best for both them and their project or internal teams. This could be at a Credera office or at the client site. You'll work closely with your project team to align on how you balance both the flexibility that we want to provide with the connection of being together to produce amazing results for our clients.
