As a Senior Data Engineer, you will support company objectives by building and maintaining

highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting. You will work as a

team to solve problems, learn new tools, and innovate. You’ll enjoy a flexible hybrid work

environment and a truly impactful career. You’ll also offer ideas to teammates and leaders as a

colleague and contributor to Macy's Enterprise Data Analytics team.

What you will do:

• Develop data pipelines that extract data from various sources, transform it into the desired

format, and load it into the appropriate data storage systems.

• Ensure data consistency and integrity during integration, performing data validation and

cleaning as needed.

• Integrate data from different sources, including databases, data warehouses, APIs, and

external systems.

• Monitor and tune data systems, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and

implement caching and indexing strategies to enhance query performance.

• Implement data quality checks and validations within data pipelines to ensure data

accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

• Optimize data pipelines and data processing workflows for performance, scalability, and

efficiency.

• Operationalize data solutions, correct problems, apply transformations, and recommend

data cleansing/quality solutions.

• Support the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications,

and automated decision-making.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimize models and algorithms for data

quality, security, and governance.

• Transform raw data into a usable format by applying data cleansing, aggregation, filtering,

and enrichment techniques.

Who you are:

• 2+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions.

• Experienced in automating ETL data pipelines using enterprise-grade tools.

• Established programming experience, including recent experience with Python and SQL.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Gets energized by fast-paced environments and capable of supporting multiple projects -

can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time, and communicate timelines

to team members.

• Enjoys taking ownership and being accountable for results.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
