Job Overview

Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities, Events and Operations, Sport Administration Department- Georgetown University. This position will oversee the management and operations of all athletics facilities, including oversight of the management of all University events held within athletics facilities.  This position also oversees the management of outside constituency events held in athletics facilities.  Supervise the preparation of facilities for game-day events via coordination with coaches, marketing, ticket operations, facilities, security and other athletics and non-athletics departments as necessary.  Responsible for working with head and assistant coaches and athletics administrators in coordinating the scheduling of all athletics facilities for practice, competition and other events.  This position serves as a liaison with the Department of Facilities. This position will play a key role in facility and master planning and implementation of new athletics facility construction. Also works with University Department of Public Safety as to security issues around building and athletic events.

Work Interactions

The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations.  The position directly supervises the Director of Facilities, which in turn oversees the Building and Field Managers and the Athletics Operations Workers.  The position requires strong oral and written communications skills, strong organizational skills, careful judgment and discretion with respect to strategic, confidential material, flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. 

Practical Experience (years needed and type required):  5-8 years of relevant experience in athletics facilities management and operations.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification:

Knowledge of basic computer skills, expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Skills:  Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.  Ability to plan, organize and implement programs and initiatives to ensure efficient and effective management of athletics facilities.  Demonstrated orientation to high service levels.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
