Department Overview:
- Legal team of regulatory and transactional attorneys supporting all Global Markets businesses, including Equities, Rates, Credit, FX, Securitized Products, Commercial Real Estate and various Solutions businesses
Role description:
- Work closely with the Business with respect to the structuring, sale, negotiation, documentation and execution of a wide range of products, with a primary focus on asset-backed lending (including mortgage warehouse, commercial real estate and esoteric financing), repurchase transactions, securitizations and whole loan trading within the Global Markets division
- Advise and assist in the creation, structuring, regulatory analysis and launch of new products and businesses within structured finance
- Interpret, educate and assist with the implementation of regulatory changes that impact structured finance businesses
- Advise the Business, Risk, Operations, Compliance and others internally regarding legal and regulatory issues, developments and risks relating to structured finance products and businesses
- Assist with ongoing advocacy efforts relating to regulatory changes impacting structured finance businesses
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Strong structured finance experience (e.g. asset-backed lending, secured credit facilities, mortgage repurchase transactions and securitizations)
- Familiarity with corporate, securities, creditor, finance and bankruptcy laws and related issues
- Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -- ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
- Ability to work independently and respond proactively to business needs
- Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative work environment
