Job Summary:
Manages and oversees plant PLC Technicians for the Cressona facility
Required Education/Experience:
- Formal education and experience to support an expert level knowledge of PLC (hardware & software), associated field ancillary equipment, and communication venues
- Leadership qualities necessary to supervise and motivate technical employees; including but not limited to a proven commitment to environmental, health and safety, strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Leadership qualities to engage and collaborate production leadership and employees
- Working knowledge base relative to all technical non-PLC aspects (i.e., Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Combustion)
- Working knowledge base of plantwide equipment and processes
- Working knowledge of R&M operating budget
- Ability to execute administrative functions such as CMMS (all phases), employee payroll, labor agreement application, Microsoft Office programs, etc.…
Job Responsibilities:
- The successful bidder will be accountable for health, safety, and environmental aspects related to this position
- Responsible for measuring and managing employee performance, completing the proper documentation supporting departmental and operational standards in a professional manner
- Responsible to develop, manage and execute upon equipment care plans (Pd.M., PM, PL & UP) for plantwide PLC equipment and ancillary equipment
- Responsible to manage all phases of assigned equipment planned outages from the guidance and/or development of plan inception through equipment returned to service
- Provides first response to problem-solving with and engages employees to resolve problems utilizing practical problem-solving techniques
- Responsible for maintaining all maintenance assigned computers, software, and activations
- Responsible for maintaining file management (Asset Centre) for PLC Programs and other critical files
- Assists in identifying needs and participates in training activities to ensure that employees acquire skill sets that support the customer demand and promote flexibility across tasks where possible.
- Responsible for assigning and directing employees in a manner that maximizes the efficiency of the resources available in both planned and unplanned equipment care environments
- Responsible for evaluating and providing technical assistance concerning maintenance issues and equipment reliability requirements
- Responsible to function as a liaison between the Maintenance Department and Engineering, IT, and Operating Departments
- Responsible to set a positive example as a change agent and directing employees in the use of EBS tools
- Responsible to assist with establishing equipment asset strategy and maintenance best practices
- Responsible to secure and manage contracted resources
- Responsible to serve as primary contact for PLC process equipment as part of the Maintenance Department Equipment Uptime Help Chain
- Responsible to support the management of the R&M spending budget
- Responsible to manage the Maintenance Department and troubleshooting equipment
- Responsible to research and recommend equipment or process changes to improve overall uptime
- Responsible to support spare parts management for identified equipment ownership
