Job Summary:

Lead the Receiving Area of the Cast House and Coordinate the management of Cressona Operation raw material with a primary focus on “Purchased Scrap” to enable the Cast House to increase PU Scrap utilization rate and deliver financial targets through lowest cost charge planning objectives.  This position reports to the Cast House Manager.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have passion around safety. Must drive a safety culture where safety is the number one priority for all employees. Knowledge of Sapa safety processes & procedures. Proven ability to intervene, recognize and eliminate hazards.  
  • Analytical skills with proven record of solving problems.
  • Organizational skills with proven record of multi-tasking.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the Cast House scheduling, receiving, charge process.
  • Proven knowledge of raw material alloy chemistries and previous purchasing or buying experience preferred.
  • Must possess proven, effective leadership skills.
  • Must be an effective trainer and presenter with a “people” focus.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates in English.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Coordinate supply line processes for incoming scrap from supplier to delivery (Packaging, Carriers, Delivery Expectations, Scheduling, On-Site Segregation) Maintain daily and monthly attainment processes.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Metal Procurement to seek out PU Scrap sources that align with increasing the purchased scrap utilization rate while maintaining/improving historical spread variance.
  • Coordinate, maintain and track Vendor performance.  Coordinate quality checks to verify continued adherence to quality expectations, oversee the DMR processes for scrap.
  • Coordinate with Cast House resources to create opportunities to utilize different types of scrap to accommodate low-cost charge planning while protecting alloy analysis “first time right.”
  • Coordinate {monitor and evaluate} one-time opportunities for scrap purchases.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Tracking Scrap Receipts and POs with weekly and month end reconciliation reporting.
  • Coordinates expedite requests with Corporate Metal Procurement to include a weekly report out on appointment volume by type versus casting alloy requirements.
  • Evaluate RSI chemistries and make recommendations on utilization at Cressona Plant.
  • Coordinate daily with Inventory Planner and Mfg. Planning process to ensure purchased volumes support monthly requirements.
  • Oversee all Plant Inventories as it relates to the Cast House Molten Metal, Dross, Plant Saw Chips, Inhouse, Pu Scrap, Prime, RSI and Commercial Metals.
  • Be a Liaison to Supply Chain Management as it relates to the Cast Schedule.
