The GenAI Platform team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer reporting directly to Director of Software Engineering. You will be responsible for leading the development of innovative Machine Learning and Generative AI systems, as well as architecting enterprise-grade Machine Learning platform, microservices, and pipelines.  This is an IC role with an expectation to be hands-on coding 80% of the time.

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex machine learning solutions that drive business results. 
• Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to achieve their full potential and improve team efficiency. 
• Develop and maintain SDLC processes and best practices - setting and enforcing high standards for quality, reliability, and security in deployed machine learning solutions. 
• Work cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals. 
• Effectively communicate technical work to senior/executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings. 
• Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML technologies and trend - acting as a thought leader for GenAI/ML Engineering within the organization and in the broader technical community. 

What you'll bring:

Some of the skills needed for this role are but not limited to:  

• Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applications with microservice architecture in Kubernetes. 
• Proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, and related framework and libraries. 
• Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint. 
• Experience with common  ML model serving framework, especially for NLP  models/applications. Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related  tooling ecosystem a plus. 
• Experience developing and maintaining  SDLC processes and best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.
