Roadway Maintenance (General Transp Tech) I/II/III, Llano (Austin District)

TxDOT's Austin District is looking for ONE (1) Roadway Maintenance Tech I, II or III (General Transportation Tech), based out of our Llano Maintenance Office. This position will perform routine work related to transportation activities such as construction inspection, routine and contract maintenance inspection, bridge inspection and record keeping, roadway maintenance and repair, light and heavy equipment operation, preventive and minor maintenance on equipment, traffic control, assisting the public during emergency situations, and training other employees.

Recruitment Bonus Available!

You may qualify for a one-time recruitment bonus up to $5000 if you have a Class “A” CDL License (preferably with no transmission restrictions) at time of hire. You must maintain 12-months of continuous employment with TxDOT and meet all other conditions. Current and Previous permanent employees (does not include Summer Internships) do not qualify for the Recruitment Bonus.

We offer company sponsored CDL training with $0 upfront monetary commitment. Earn your full salary while training with lodging, transportation and per-diem provided if necessary!

This position is for ONE Roadway Maintenance Tech I, II, or III (General Transportation Tech I/II/III). The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Salary Plan/Grade:

Roadway Maintenance/General Transportation Tech I:   A16 ($40,918.00 - $61,130.00/yearly)

Roadway Maintenance/General Transportation Tech II:  A17 ($42,976.00 - $64,469.00/yearly)

Roadway Maintenance/General Transportation Tech III: A18 ($45,521.00 - $71,055.00/yearly)
