We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth and secure operation of all systems and processes. The Senior IT Engineer will play a key role in owning system administration and automating IT processes that support Cuberg's business objectives, security goals, and R&D initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with Cuberg’s business teams as well as Northvolt’s IT team, and will contribute to the overall success of operational efficiency.

Cuberg is commercializing next-generation battery technology to power the future of electric mobility. The company was acquired in 2021 by Northvolt, a global supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems. As Northvolt's Advanced Technology Center operating in Silicon Valley, Cuberg is developing and commercializing lithium metal batteries, building an innovation ecosystem around lithium-ion technology, and leveraging Northvolt's state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities to rapidly scale up production of advanced batteries.
Responsibilities
- Own system administration and desktop support for a rapidly growing company.
- Automate and oversee all aspects of IAM, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Ensure seamless integration of Cuberg's IT infrastructure with Northvolt's systems.
- Build a best-in-class A/V and collaboration infrastructure.
- Establish and enforce security protocols for Cuberg's IT systems to protect against cyber attacks and data breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement IT solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Lead IT procurement efforts, including researching and recommending new hardware and software solutions.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on desktop support and system administration.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure, Google Workspace and collaboration tools (Teams, Slack, Jira).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

The San Francisco / Bay Area cash compensation (base + bonus) range for this full-time position is $104,000 - $126,000 + equity + benefits.
