About the role

Position Summary

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for analytic data needs of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM). This role will handle complex data projects and act as a liaison between systems teams, business teams, and multiple data teams to implement new datapoints in the enterprise data warehouse. This role will also be responsible for downstream reporting to operational teams, utilizing these newly added datapoints along with legacy data.

What will your job entail?

  • Coordinate with the Corporate systems team, Corporate data engineering team, and RSUM Business Intelligence team for implementation, validation, and reporting of newly added data fields in core source systems
  • Review data to determine operational impacts and needed actions; elevate issues, trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to management
  • Work with data in several tools/capacities to address operational and management reporting needs, including MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, DataBricks, etc.
  • Extract, load, model, and reconcile large amounts of data across multiple system platforms and sources
  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of data & reporting projects
  • Assist with training and mentoring other Data Analysts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and 7-10 years of experience in roles related to business analysis, data analysis, business intelligence, etc.
  • Experience managing projects or heavy involvement in project implementation
  • Experience collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver projects & outcomes
  • Experience with regular QA testing and data validation

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Business Analytics
  • Project Management
  • Data Governance
  • SQL
  • BI Tools: Dashboarding and Visualization in Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Fluency in MS Excel. Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA are a plus.
  • ETL Pipelines and Data Warehousing

The target salary range for this position is $96,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
