Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for overseeing centralized inventory management processes across the health system to ensure the availability, integrity, and safety of medications and supplies. This role supports system-wide operations by collaborating with pharmacy staff, vendors, and suppliers to maintain an efficient and cost-effective inventory system, adhering to regulatory standards, including the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), and internal policies. The coordinator also manages drug recalls and reverse distribution processes to ensure patient safety and compliance. Accountabilities 1. Develops and maintains standardized procedures for inventory technician workflows, including receiving; storage; restocking/inventory movement transactions; new NDC intake; barcode linking; inventory systems formulary/database maintenance (e.g., NDC-ERX Tracker, etc.); drug recall; reverse distribution; and inventory optimization program practices.2. Monitors and maintains inventory levels and storage organization of pharmaceuticals and related supplies across all pharmacy locations to ensure availability for patient care. Conducts regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.3. Creates, maintains, and analyzes inventory reports for inventory storage system par optimization, including tracking of fast movers, low critical inventory, and outdating inventory targets. Leads project management of the Pharmacy Inventory Technicians and inventory optimization action strategies from analyzed reports.4. Works with the Medication Utilization Coordinator to ensure inventory optimization and drug shortage response actions minimize impact to clinical and patient care needs.5. Works with Medication Utilization Coordinator to ensure EMR medication lists, and all system formularies meet clinical and patient care needs (e.g., CMC Formulary, Preference List, Facility List, Narrator, Macros, Orderables, Quicklist, Picklist, etc.) from NDC-ERX Tracker submissions.6. Works with Pharmacy Procurement Compliance Coordinator to align default medication product selection during intake and NDC-ERX tracker submissions to support accurate utilization files for split billing processes.7. Monitors ongoing drug inventory valuation and turnover. Leads annual inventory.8. Processes and coordinates the purchasing of select medications (e.g., Radiology, Cath lab, Endoscopy contrast, etc.), supplies, and IV solutions from vendors. Tracks deliveries and ensures timely restocking.9. Assists with the implementation and monitoring of pharmacy-related contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, contract terms, and organizational policies. Supports pharmacy leadership and works with contract coordinators for inventory control -related contract negotiation. Maintains awareness of contract terms, monitors key performance indicators, and tracks contract renewal or expiration timelines. Participates in contract reviews and assists in resolving discrepancies related to pricing, delivery, or service expectations.10. Collaborates with reverse distributors, DSCSA compliance vendors, wholesalers, direct suppliers, outsourcing/503B facilities, and group purchasing organizations (GPO) to streamline purchasing processes, monitor contract compliance, and ensure reliable delivery schedules. Ensures pharmaceutical representatives are aware of and conduct their activities within hospital policy. Participates in vendor business reviews to assess performance and compliance.11. Oversees the drug reverse distribution process by coordinating the return, credit, and compliant disposal of expired, unused, or recalled medications across the health system. Ensures accurate documentation, adherence to regulatory requirements, and collaboration with reverse distributors to optimize cost recov
