POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The responsibilities involve safety and maintenance, grain handling, customer service, and other duties as assigned by a supervisor, operations manager, or management.

 

SAFETY & MAINTENANCE

 

Observe Prairie Central Cooperative, OSHA, state, and federal Safety policies and regulations

 

Maintain equipment and facilities regularly 

 

Maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards

 

 

Grain Handling

• Handle incoming, binned, and outgoing grain
  • ​Prepare and load truck and railcars in approved manner
  • Bin grain to maintain condition and in anticipation of handling, blending & loading out shipments
  • Gain working knowledge of all equipment and machinery

 

• Maintain grain quality
  • ​Make periodic inspections of all stored grain
  • Make recommendations to elevator supervisor, when necessary, to improve the grain handling operation and to provide better service for customers

 

Customer Service

• Greet customers promptly & courteously
• Assist customers with unloading & loading
• Actively work to increase personal skills and knowledge

 

Other Duties

• The elevator will uphold cooperative policies and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold all cooperative policies
  • Perform duties as requested by management

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

• High School diploma or GED

• Be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.  Frequently exposed to dust and high noise levels.
• Must be able to climb and work at heights, enter confined spaces, and ability to lift 50 pounds
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Must be able to work hours beyond those considered normal
