About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Dublin, Ohio, to support the Trading, Supply & Logistics, and Marketing business unit for US Refined Products. This role is responsible for end-to-end finance and accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries. The analyst will collaborate closely with front office teams to align financial results with the economic P&L and provide performance insights. Strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively across functions and with senior leadership are important.
What you’ll do:
Run all accounting activities for the commodity trade book(s), including journal entries, accruals, and intra/intercompany transactions.
Prepare and deliver financial and performance reports for internal stakeholders and external partners, including government and customs reporting.
Bridge economic P&L to financial results, supporting Trading/Marketing and Supply & Logistics teams with variance analysis and insights.
Analyze transportation and storage economics, including monthly balancing, netback calculations, and revenue/expense tracking.
Support strategic planning efforts, including long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting for trade book(s).
Perform monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts and provide financial data to support critical metrics and industry benchmarking.
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
CPA/MBA Designation
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, business / financial analysis
Excel & SAP skills
Experience in oil and gas marketing/trading
