About the role:
The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of critical plant equipment. This role ensures the smooth operation of manufacturing and facilities equipment, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of Takeda's operations.
How you will contribute:
Perform breakdown and preventive maintenance on critical plant equipment, including process chillers, HVAC systems, air handlers, central chillers, pumps, and industrial control systems
Repair refrigeration systems, low, medium, and normal temperature cold storage equipment, building automation system components, mechanical and electrical equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex systems and equipment components, including HVAC, chillers, electrical controls, compressors, pumps, piping, plumbing, blowers, dehumidifiers, and facility equipment
Execute emergency and planned corrective maintenance processes, advising others in complex situations
Close assigned work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP) and complete Change Control documentation if required
Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
Provide Work Order technical planning support
May train lower level maintenance technicians
Will serve as the Facilities Department Lead on nights or weekends in the absence of the Supervisor
Complete mandatory training within required timeframe
Independently conducts preventive maintenance across a variety of equipment, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of maintenance principles to prevent equipment failure
Recognized as an expert in influencing, able to develop strategic influence initiatives and coach others at all levels, including external stakeholders
Advanced writing ability, capable of crafting well-structured content for a variety of complex scenarios and can mentor others in improving their writing skills
Practical experience with Equipment Lifecycle Management, can apply basic principles in simple contexts with oversight
May perform technical work with Programmable Logic Controllers in highly complex situations and can coach others
Expertly handles the maintenance of production equipment, including in highly complex situations, and can provide guidance to others
Fully capable of executing and improving predictive maintenance processes, advising others in complex situations
Performs technical work involving mechanical systems independently, advises others, and handles highly complex situations
Performs root cause analysis in highly complex situations independently, advises others, and recommends improvements
Leadership - May assist the Utilities Operations Manager by giving work and technical direction to other maintenance personnel when the Manager is unavailable.
May serve as the ranking Facilities Department representative during weekend and off-shift hours and have the decision-making ability to notify management of issues when necessary.
Expected to lead by example by displaying positive and professional behavior.
What you bring to Takeda:
Two-year certificate in a technical field such as HVAC, building trades or building utilities program, or equivalent military experience is preferred.
10+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
