EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period
CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is currently 8:30 a.m.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction, provides assessments, connections, and referrals to persons served who are seeking services from Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH). Manages clinical and administrative records. Coordinates, consults, and collaborates with external agencies to ensure service authorizations remain current. Implements program objectives and initiatives and contributes professional knowledge to team planning and treatment procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct clinical services such as intakes, treatment plans, services reviews, crisis or safety plans, and individual contacts.
Provides family training to assigned persons served in the wraparound program.
Consults with school personnel, juvenile court, Child Protective Services (CPS), Foster Care, and community-based connections to ensure the best support and integration.
Meets regularly with families and wraparound treatment team members to help facilitate the family wraparound plan, as well as transition and discharge planning.
Performs indirect clinical services such as documenting cases and participating in case discussions to validate diagnoses and provide appropriate clinical suggestions with minimal restrictions.
Participates in staff meetings, in-service trainings, periodic supervisions with Clinical Supervisor, and other departmental meetings as assigned.
Serves on community mental health or community-based committees.
Leads and assists families in developing a team, addressing needs, identifying goals, leveraging strengths, and taking action to reach desired outcomes.
Facilitates monthly meetings with families, persons served, and team members.
Utilizes computers to perform clinical and administrative job functions.
Participates in continual education and training, including the Department of Community Health (DCH) 3-day wraparound new facilitator training and annual wraparound training to maintain certification.
Follows wraparound best practice values.
Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Doctorate in Psychology or a directly related mental health field
Two (2) years of clinical experience working with children who are seriously emotionally disturbed
Must meet qualifications of the Michigan Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP)
Preferred Education and Experience
Previous community mental health experience with children, adolescents, and adults
Knowledge of Macomb County Provider Network
Required Licenses or Certifications
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC), Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Preferred Licenses or Certifications
Certification with the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professio
