Electrical Design Engineer I

The Opportunity 

InCharge Energy is seeking a motivated and dynamic Electrical Design Engineer to join our team focused on the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, installation, and operation of charging stations, contributing to the advancement of sustainable transportation solutions.

What You'll Do 

• Design and Planning:

  • Assist in the design and layout of electrical systems for EV charging stations
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to create electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and other technical documentation

  Installation and Commissioning:

  • Support the installation and commissioning of EV charging infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues during the installation phase

  Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, technicians, and other engineers
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and communicate effectively with team members

  Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about industry standards, codes, and regulations related to EV charging infrastructure
  • Assist in ensuring all projects comply with relevant electrical codes and safety standards

Your Experience and Capabilities 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in electrical design
• Possess EIT or have demonstrated progress or desire toward obtaining EIT and PE licensure
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and principles
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, SKM or other design software
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced industry
• Knowledge of electric vehicle charging technologies
• Experience with electrical system modeling and simulation
• Familiarity with energy storage systems
• Understanding of renewable energy sources and their integration into charging infrastructure

US Salary Range$85,000—$100,000 USD
