Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Manager of Medical Services to support an unaccompanied migrant children program within Health and Human Services (HHS) Influx Facilities.  An effective and empathetic Medical Services Program is a key success factor for providing a safe and secure environment for the children while they are seeking pathway to a timely reunification. The Manager of Medical Services will be responsible for the Key Responsibilities listed below. This role is anticipated to be based within 240 miles of the Border with Mexico, however, the final site location has yet to be determined, and is contingent upon contract award which is anticipated to be in late summer 2023.

The Manager of Medical Services will report directly to the Medical Director to provide cohesive, compliant medical care for the HHS Influx facility. 

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) historically cares for Unaccompanied Children (UC) crossing into the United States. As required by the Flores Settlement Agreement, ORR must deliver safe, child-friendly care for these children. ORR needs a trusted partner to manage and provide a full spectrum of services. To achieve ORR’s objectives, AECOM has partnered with industry leading firms to create TeamCARE.

 

Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive):

  • The Manager of Medical Services will oversee multiple areas within the medical operations and reports directly to the Medical Director.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision, delivery, and management of nursing services
  • Develop a patient-focused, team-oriented culture, working in conjunction with all other medical, clinical and therapeutic disciplines to ensure optimal service and superior outcomes
  • Support cultural diversity by ensuring the delivery of quality, equitable, culturally competent, patient-centered care
  • Ensure that cultural diversity and sensitivity training are part of new-employee orientation on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of the population serviced on site
  • Provides leadership in establishing standards, goals and direction for nursing
  • Provides direction for the medical services on site
  • Establishes, monitors and evaluates the nursing care delivery system
  • Investigates problems, complaints and policy violations; takes appropriate action with follow up as necessary
  • Collects and analyzes data to determine staffing patterns, utilizes data to project staffing needs; ensure adequate staffing per ORR guidelines,
  • Assists management personnel in developing objectives, planning change, writing policies and procedures and in monitoring standards of nursing care
  • Developing organizational patient car
